Little Traveller Exhibition Opening, 6th Feb 2008
We are having a fabulous photographic exhibition entitled "Little traveller" at the Durban Art Gallery this February, 2008. The selection of photographs were taken by 100 Woza Moya Crafters who are part of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre's income-generation project. These are men and women who are either affected or infected by HIV/AIDS. The photos were taken with disposable cameras kindly donated by Tudor Photographics in Cape Town. The exhibition explores the concept of: " Who am I ? Where do I come from? and where am I going?"
The exhibition also focuses on one of the first products produced by the crafters of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust - The Little Traveller. It exhibits the effect it has had on the crafters who made them, and those that have come into contact with them from around the world. This is their story. Furthermore, the exhibition also documents the contribution of organisations and individuals who have made this journey possible. This is the Little Traveller story. It will inspire you, it will warm the heart , it will make you sad, just dont miss it!
Please join us for the opening on the 6th of February @ 6pm opened by Gcina Mhlope, or visit the exhibition which is on for the entire month of February and March. We will have staff available for questions, and we will be trying to raise money for the building of our new Respite Centre.
Design Indaba,
22nd - 26th Feb 2008
This is the second year that we will have a stand at the Design Indaba in Cape Town. We have been part of the Design Indaba for three years taking part in both the Fashion Salon and selling our beautiful jewellery to International buyers from around the world. The design Indaba is from The 22 to the 26 of February this year. It is a wonderful creative treat to be exposed to the wonderful creative talent found in South Africa- it is not to be missed!
